Rights and Complaints

Type of stored data, purpose and legal basis, deadlines for deletion

Handling personal data
We only collect, use and disclose personal data if this is permitted by law or if the users have consented to the collection, use and disclosure of the data. Personal data means all data that relates to you personally, e.g. name, address, e-mail address, user behavior. Information about how we handle your personal data is given below.

Access data/Server log files
When you access this website, the following data is generally stored in the server log files:

  • Domain
  • IP address
  • Time
  • Request (request from your web browser)
  • Status code (status of processing your request or error message)
  • Transmitted bytes
  • User agent (information on type and version of browser and operating system)

This data is stored in internal log files and is used solely for the purpose of checking functionality, security and troubleshooting. This use is based on Art. 6 para. 1 (f) GDPR. All log files are automatically deleted after 45 days at the latest.

Cookies
The UCT Frankfurt website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that enable specific, device-related information to be stored on your access device (PC, smartphone or similar device). They serve to make our website more user-friendly. You can control the use of cookies. You can disable the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings. Matomo
In order to optimize our website and adapt it to user needs, we collect anonymized data and use it to compile statistics relating to the duration, frequency and order in which different pages are visited, as well as relating to the frequency of operating systems, browsers and screen resolutions used.

Our website uses the privacy-friendly analysis tool "Matomo" for this purpose. We use settings that ensure that "Matomo" does not set cookies to identify visitors. The IP addresses of visitors are also anonymized through the use of the AnonymizeIP plugin before they are stored. The last 2 bytes are anonymized in this process.

In rare cases, the combination of information collected may be sufficient to identify a data subject. In this case, the purpose of website optimization is considered a legitimate interest on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 (f) GDPR. 

Our legitimate interest can be inferred from the purposes of data collection as listed above. On no account will we use the data we collect to draw inferences about you personally. On no account will your IP address be associated with other data. The IP addresses are anonymized to ensure that no association is possible (IP masking).

Contact and registration forms
Personal data is also collected, stored and processed for the purpose of processing and executing an order or contract. It is kept strictly confidential and, in particular, not passed on to third parties who are not part of the contract processing. Data processing for the purpose of contacting us takes place according to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 (a) GDPR on the basis of the consent provided by you voluntarily.

When you contact employees of UCT Frankfurt via the contact form on this website, your details will be stored for the purpose of processing your enquiry. After your request has been processed, the data collected in this context will be deleted, unless the data must be retained to implement legitimate interests of UCT Frankfurt-Marburg or due to a statutory requirement.

When registering for UCT Frankfurt-Marburg events via the registration form on this website, your details will be stored for the purpose of processing your registration, conducting the event and, if applicable, for the purpose of invoicing. Data processing for the purpose of registering for events also takes place according to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 (a) GDPR on the basis of the consent provided by you voluntarily. User-based services of UCT
In addition to the above-mentioned data, a user name and an identifier are also collected to control data access authorisation during registration for the use of the UCT Guidelines and the Internal Clinical Trials Area. Explicit declarations of consent are obtained for these services during registration. The legal basis here is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 (a) GDPR. We delete the data collected in this context after storage is no longer necessary or restrict processing of the data if the storage of the data is necessary to implement legitimate interests of UCT Frankfurt or due to a statutory requirement.
